    Rite Foods Attains ISO 9001 Certification As it Seeks Growth

    Rite Foods Limited, the Ososa, Ogun State-based food and beverage manufacturer said it has received the Quality Management System certification also known as ISO 9001:2015 from the Standard Organisation of Nigeria, the country’s representative of the International Organisation for Standardisation.

    The certificate is an international standard that is given to organisations that demonstrate the ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and regulatory requirements.
    Speaking at the award ceremony, the Director-General, Standard Organisation of Nigeria, Osita Abaloma, who was represented by the organisation’s Director of Laboratory Services, Mojisola Kehinde, said the ISO achievement was a demonstration of the conformity of Rite Foods management systems to international acceptable standard requirement with focus on continued improvement.

    ‘‘By the presentation of this certification today, Rite Foods Limited is adjudged to have a system that gives customers and interested parties’ assurance of your ability to consistently provide products that meet relevant requirements,’’ he stated. ‘‘This focus on production of quality products will also strengthen your competitive strategies’’.
    ‘‘By this achievement, Rite Foods have gained her place among a privileged class of Quality Management System certified organisations in Nigeria,’’ the DG added.

    He stressed the need for consistency in the production of quality products and challenged Rite Foods to ensure that the system remain effective to reap the benefits of ISO quality management.
    Abaloma also called on private and public organisations that were yet to get the certification to do so to enjoy the benefits of ISO management approach.

    Saleem Adegunwa, Managing Director, Rite Foods Limited, said the journey towards achieving the certification was enjoyable, educational and beneficial for the organization.
    ‘‘The processes towards achieving the certification was not just for the certification alone, rather it is a culture we have chosen to imbibe in our everyday operation,’’ he said.

    Adegunwa revealed that the firm has plans to scale-up its production towards making its products available across the country.
    ‘‘Expansion plans are in place. By the end of this year, there should be additional capacity to take care of that,’’ he noted.
    He added that once the Nigerian market had been conquered, the company will set its sights on neigbouring African countries.

    “We intend to spread to the neighbouring countries in a bid to satisfy and meet the needs of the final consumers.
    “Once we conquer the Nigerian market we are set to move to neighbouring West African countries to cash in on the opportunities that abound. We are striving for excellence because we believe everybody is capable of achieving rare feats. We will succeed.”

    Rite Foods Limited was established in 2007 as a subsidiary of E-SSAY Holdings Group. E-SSAY, which was founded in 1963, began its journey in the photography business. However, by the mid-2000, the group diversified into the Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector with the launch of Rite Foods. The firm began producing its Bigi soft drinks about 20 months ago.
