    PMS Imports Dip to 4.79Bn Litres in Q2

    The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has revealed that the importation of Premium Motor Spirit, otherwise known as petrol, dipped to 4.79 billion litres in the second quarter of 2018 as against the 5.67 billion litres of the product imported in the first quarter of the year by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).

    The second quarter report of the NBS reflected that 1.11 billion litres of Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), 43.79 mln litres of household kerosene (HHK) and 200.39 mln litres of aviation turbine kerosene (ATK) were imported into the country in the period under review.

    In comparison, the NBS report showed that in the first quarter of the year, the NNPC imported  954.47 million litres of automotive gas oil (AGO), 66.914 million litres of household kerosene (HHK) and 5122.067 million litres of aviation turbine kerosene (ATK) into the country in Q1 2018. The months of April 2018 recorded the highest volumes of premium motor spirits (PMS) imported into the country at 1.78 billion litres while the highest volume of automotive gas oil (AGO) and household kerosene (HHK) were imported in June 2018.

    Statewide distribution of truck-out volume for Q2 2018 showed that 4.89 billion litres of premium motor spirits (PMS), 1.17 billion litres of automotive gas oil (AGO), 168.83 million litres of household kerosene (HHK) and 176.98 million litres of aviation turbine kerosene (ATK) were distributed nationwide during the period under review.
