Instagram Testing 'Main Account' Feature to Link Multiple Accounts in Single Login

According to reports, social media giant Facebook is gearing up for improving the Instagrammers’ connection. The company is allegedly planning to release a brand-new login feature that shall make it more convenient to use different Instagram accounts from just a single set of login credentials. Facebook-owned Instagram has built a prototype of the upcoming feature named Main Account, and it will let users link different Instagram accounts together, and configure one of the linked accounts as the primary one.

The Main Account feature will assist the users in managing their work and private accounts with the same login credentials. Moreover, the ease in toggling between multiple accounts with a single set of credentials will just make Instagram more popular and attractive.
According to the reports, a code was discovered in the app’s alpha version, and it stated that one could promptly and safely sign in to all of their Instagram accounts using a single ID and password. Users just have to set an account to be their main account, and then make use of it to sign in to all of their other Instagram accounts at the same time.

The Instagram accounts shall remain distinct. However, one will be able to log in quickly and securely. If anybody has the login details of the main account, then they will be able to access all the other linked accounts.
Moreover, according to another source, it was hinted that the upcoming Account Linking update might expand the app’s current “Login with Instagram” feature and it is slated to produce additional user identity of profile information to more applications just like Facebook Login. Furthermore, “Login with Facebook” is a lot more popular as compared to Login with Instagram.

As per the report, with the help of this feature, users shall be capable of logging into 3rd party apps or websites by using their Instagram login information. They will be able to select which Instagram account they should link with different platforms. Coming to the present, Instagram has not given any confirmation about this feature. They have even refused to provide any comments regarding it. But, one must keep it in mind that Facebook regularly adds more features and updates in an attempt to make the platform more attractive and interactive.
