Following the reelection of President Muhammadu Buhari for the second term, Women in Kano have called on the President to initiate more empowerment programmes for women.

The women, who expressed happiness over the reelection of Buhari in Kano on Wednesday, described the success as a success for all Nigerians.
A civil servant in Kano, Hajiya Mairo Idris, said that women came out en masse to ensure the return of Buhari to power.

She explained that the women expected some benefits in return, which could come in form of women empowerment to improve their living standard.
Hafsat Bello, a housewife, said she voted for Buhari because she believed in his integrity and patriotism.
According to her, “We the women also believe that the country will improve and women will be given priority attention when it comes to empowerment.”

Another housewife, Malama Hadiza Ali, expressed the hope that the Federal Government would in the next few months come up with various empowerment programmes to enhance the socio-economic status of the common man.
The women, however, expressed delight over the reelection of President Muhammadu Buhari to power in the just concluded Presidential and National Assembly elections.
