Hyundai Venue, the upcoming sub-compact SUV from the South Korean carmaker, has finally made its public debut in India -- aboard a cruise ship in the Arabian sea, to be precise. Describing it as 'India's first connected SUV', Hyundai says the highly-awaited car was designed in accordance with the following tenets: solid presence, refreshing driving experience, and seamless connectivity. The company added that the core philosophy behind Venue's design is '3rd SPACE' that is trendy, unique, stylish, and serves as a true representation of its newest connected SUV.

Mr S S Kim, managing director and chief executive officer, Hyundai Motor India Ltd., said, "Today, we are glad to unveil the Hyundai Venue - India's first connected SUV at the most unique venue. Hyundai Motor India is committed to lead the Indian auto industry by introducing a world class product. Hyundai Venue will create quality time for customers, making their life a Happy Life. Being India's first connected SUV not only makes Hyundai Venue a new benchmark in the segment but also demonstrates Hyundai's unwavering emphasis on offering the highest quality and feature-rich products to the customers."

The upcoming Hyundai SUV gets a modern design that aims to enable the 'urban entrepreneur lifestyle' with adaptability. It's design, a modern take on the company's characteristic design philosophy, features a bold mesh pattern grille with Hyundai's signature face, a robust character line, and prominent wheel arches. Besides that, the Venue gets projector headlamps with LED DRLS, LED tail-lamps, projector fog lamps, a shark fin antenna, roof rails, and chrome outside door handles.
We had no doubts that the Hyundai Venue will be offered with an impressive list of features and let's just say that the company didn't disappoint in this regard. The SUV gets a plethora of provisions, including an electric sunroof, cruise control, air purifier, wireless charging, an Arkamys sound system, glove box cooling, rear AC vents, and cornering lights.
Hailing the Venue as India's first connected SUV, Hyundai has equipped the Venue with the BlueLink technology with an embedded Vodafone sim card for wireless connectivity.

This system offers myriad functionalities, including live navigation through Push Maps, live traffic updates, and also sends out crash notifications to emergency services as well as your emergency contacts in case of an accident to get help your way.  Other features offered by the BlueLink system include geo-fencing, stolen vehicle notification, tracking, remote engine immobilization and buttons for road-side assistance and SOS. The system also gets an AI-based interactive voice recognition system which allows one to perform a variety of functions.
In terms of safety, the Hyundai Venue gets six airbags, ESC/ESP and VSM (vehicle stability management), hill assist control, brake assist system, and ISOFIX child seat anchorages among others.

The 1.0-litre engine, developed by the Hyundai Motor Group's R&D division, features a compact layout, thanks to the integration of exhaust manifold into the cylinder head. Hyundai added that this also helps deliver better fuel-efficiency at higher RPM ranges.
