Feige reportedly discussed the idea in a late summer meeting with Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy and studio co-chairmen Alan Horn and Alan Bergman
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Feige – reportedly a long-time Star Wars fan – met with Disney executives and Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy in late summer to discuss joining the sci-fi universe.
The industry paper claims that Feige will develop a new movie in the franchise, and that he has already told at least one “major actor” that there’s “a specific role” he would like them to appear in it.

A source also said that the move should not be interpreted as a sign that Kennedy may be eyeing an exit as Lucasfilm president. Kennedy has been in charge of the studio since 2012 and has overseen the current Star Wars trilogy, which concludes in December with The Rise of Skywalker, spin-off movies Rogue One and Solo, and the forthcoming Disney+ TV series The Mandalorian.
She is currently in the middle of a new, three-year contract as Lucasfilm president that began in September 2018.
In a statement, Disney Studios co-chairman Alan Horn said: “Kathleen Kennedy is pursuing a new era in Star Wars storytelling, and knowing what a die-hard fan Kevin is, it made sense for these two extraordinary producers to work on a Star Wars film together.”
Feige has been in charge of Marvel Studios since 2007, where he has been credited for shaping the Marvel Universe of movies.
Under his management, the Marvel Universe has grossed a combined $26 billion since 2008’s Iron Man and been a major contributor to Disney’s current box office dominance.
