    Shobanjo, Momoh, Thorpe, Ogwezzy-Ndisika Makes Superbrands Nigeria Council

    Superbrands releases the list of members of the Superbrands Council Nigeria, with Nigeria’s doyen of Advertising, Dr. Abiodun Shobanjo, the Executive Chairman of the Troyka Group, as Chairman of Council.

    The Council comprise of experts, luminaries and academics from the world of branding, marketing advertising, organizational strategy and business. Other members of the Council include Dr. John Momoh, Chairman/CEO of Channels TV Group, one of

    Africa’s leading independent and multiple award-winning news and media television groups; Mr. George Thorpe, Founding Chairman Market Space Limited, pharmacist and respected marketing guru; Prof. Mrs. Abigail Ogwezzy- Ndisika, awards winning Professor and Head of Department of Mass Communication, University of Lagos; Mr. Fanen Acho – Pioneer COO of Superbrands in Nigeria, Branding Expert & Consultant to the IFC/WORLD Bank; Mr. Chima Okenimkpe – Executive Creative Director of Publicis West Africa and one of the most respected creative directors on the continent; Mr. Kelechi Nwosu , advertising leading mind and Managing Director TBWA; Mr. Bayo Adekanmbi, formerly Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer and currently the Chief Transformation Officer of MTN Nigeria, also an expert in Brand Analytics and Data Science; Mr. Feyi Olubodun, formerly MD/CEO of Insight Publicis and a leading authority on the African Consumer, speaker on consumer insights on international platforms across Europe and Africa, Author of “The Villager” and Founder of Open Squares; and Dr. Sabastine Okeke, leading Business Execution, Brand Engagement and Organizational Performance Strategist, as President/Chief Executive Superbrands Nigeria.

    Superbrands remains the world’s largest independent arbiter of branding, and pays tribute to the strongest and most valuable brands in the world through its annual awards, publications and national marketing programmes.

    The Council meets to commission Brands Research, review Research Reports on Brands Shortlisted to be conferred with the Superbrands Status and to finally ratify nominated Brands that met the criteria to be conferred with the Status of Superbrands in the Nigerian Market by the Board of Superbrands International.

    The Superbrands status strengthens a brand’s position, adds prestige and sets the brand apart from its competitors. Only brands which have been highly rated by the Superbrands Council and through cumulative research are granted the Superbrands Status. The Superbrands Nigeria would host about 1000 business leaders, CEOs, Branding and Marketing experts at the Brands Night of Tribute holding October 2020, being the last lap of the Superbrands Awards process that starts March 2020, where the winning brands would be conferred with the Superbrands Status.
