    Nigeria Records 348 New Cases, Total Infections Now 11,166

    According to the latest update from the Nigeria centre for disease control on Wednesday night, Nigeria has recorded 348 new cases of the novel coronavirus.

    While the number of deaths rose from 314 to 315 the number of discharge cases also increased from 3,239 to 3,329

    According to the latest update which was announced via the NCDC official Twitter page, Lagos State is still the epicenter of the virus in Nigeria, with 163 new cases, followed by FCT with 76,  Ebonyi with 23  and River with 21 cases.

    Other states with new cases include, Delta, Nasarawa and Niger recorded eight cases each, Enugu confirmed six cases, Bauchi, Edo, Ekiti, Ondo and Gombe recorded five cases each, Benue recorded four cases, Ogun confirmed two cases, Osun, Plateau, Kogi and Anambra confirmed one case each.

    There was an increase in the number of infections [348] reported on Wednesday compared to the number [241] reported Thurday.

    On the 3rd of June 2020, 316 new confirmed cases and 1 death were recorded in Nigeria
    No new state has reported a case in the last 24 hours.
    Till date, 11134 cases have been confirmed, 3329 cases have been discharged and 315 deaths have been recorded in 35 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
    As Africa’s biggest economy, the federal government has continued to enforce regulations across the board even though most state governments have moved to relax restrictions. Only Cross River State has yet to record a case.

    The national response is led by the Presidential Task Force led by SGF Boss Mustapha along with a national coordinator and relevant ministers – chief among them, Health, Foreign Affairs and Education ministries.
