    Foundation Donates $380,000 Worth of Medical Supplies to Taraba

    Sir Emeka Offor Foundation in Collaboration with the Future Assured of the wife of the President Aisha Buhari on Thursday donated medical supplies worth 380,000 dollars to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Jalingo.
    Donating the medical supplies, Chief of Staff to the Sir Emeka Offor Foundation, Mr Chris Okezike said the 40 feets container load was to boost healthcare delivery at the centre especially in the COVID-19 pandemic period.

    Okezike said the foundation which was founded in 1993 has been intervening in both health and educational services especially in marginalised communities.
    According to him, the choice of FMC Jalingo was the initiative of the wife of the President, Aisha Buhari and assured that the hospital will benefit from another round of supplies soon.

    “What we are donating to FMC Jalingo today is a 40 feets medical supplies worth 380,000 dollars.
    “At the outbreak of COVID-19 we ordered for medical supplies which we suspect would be useful and soon we will take delivery of the supplies and FMC Jalingo will be one of the beneficiaries,” he said.

    Wife of the President, Aisha Buhari represented by Barr. Kabiru Dodo appealed to the management of FMC Jalingo to make judicial use of the medical equipment.

    Governor Darius Ishaku who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Hon. Anthony Jellason commended the philanthropic gesture of the two organisations, describing the donation as timely.

    The governor called on the management of the hospital to make good use of the materials for the good of the people of the state.
    Earlier, Commissioner for Health Dr Innocent Vakkai in his remark, thanked the Emeka Offor Foundation and Aisha Buhari’s Future Assured for the donation, saying it will help the centre to achieve its vision of efficient service delivery to the people of Taraba State.

    Responding, the Medical Director of the Federal Medical Centre Jalingo, Dr Aisha Adamu said the donation would help them to establish the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in the hospital.
    The MD expressed happiness that the medical supplies would strengthen the capacity of the hospital in terms of service delivery.
    “This medical equipment will not only boost our capacity but activate our isolation unit with the provision of ventilators and Personal Protective Equipment,” she said.
