    Nigeria Records 501 New COVID-19 Cases As Infection Toll Reach 15,682

    Nigeria records 501 new COVID-19 cases, another high for three consecutive days, the Nigeria Centre For Disease Control(NCDC) announced this via it official Twitter handle late Saturday.

    This raises the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 15,682 while the death toll from the virus reached 407

    210 COVID-19 patients have been discharged, raising the number of successfully recovered patients to 5,101

    The newly recorded infections were reported across 23 States and the Federal Capital Territory. Lagos State, the epicentre of the outbreak in Nigeria, reported the largest number of the virus - 195 followed by FCT with 50 cases, Kano had 42 cases and Kaduna Reported 27 cases.

    According to the agency, others state with new cases as follows: Edo-26,Oyo-22, Imo-21, Gombe-17, Benue-12, Enugu-12, Delta-11, Anambra-11, Ebonyi-10, Nasarawa-9, Ogun-9, Bauchi-8, Kebbi-4, Akwa Ibom-3, Jigawa-3, Katsina-3, Yobe-2, Borno-2, Kwara-1 and Ondo-1.

    There was a drop in the number of infections 501 reported on Saturday compared to the number 627 reported on Friday.

    Nigeria has so far tested 90,464 persons since the first confirmed case relating to the COVID-19 pandemic was announced.

    On the 13th of June 2020, 501 new confirmed cases and 8 deaths were recorded in Nigeria
    No new state has reported a case in the last 24 hours.
    Till date, 15682 cases have been confirmed, 5101 cases have been discharged and 407 deaths have been recorded in 35 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
