    Nigeria Records 14 Deaths, 587 New COVID-19 Infections

    The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 587 new coronavirus cases in the country on Wednesday.
    The new cases were reported in 17 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), bringing the number of people infected with the virus to 17,735

    Fourteen patients were reported dead of coronavirus-related complications in the country on Wednesday, taking total fatalities to 469.
    And 344 more patients have been discharged after testing negative twice to coronavirus. So far, the total number of patients recovered and discharged now 5967.

    According to the NCDC's breakdown, 155 of the cases were recorded in Lagos, 75 cases in Edo, 67 cases in FCT while 65 cases were reported in River state.

    Oyo reported 56 cases, Delta-50 cases, Bayelsa-25 cases, Plateau and Kaduna-18 cases each, Enugu-17 cases.
    Borno and Ogun-12 cases, Ondo-7 cases, Kwara-4 cases, Kano and Gombe-2 each,
    Sokoto and Kebbi-1 case each.

    Nigeria has tested 103,799 persons since the first confirmed case relating to the COVID-19 pandemic was announced on 27 February 2020.

    As of the time of reporting, 35 states and the FCT have recorded at least a case of the disease. Only one state, Cross River, is yet to report any case of the virus.

    On the 17th of June 2020, 587 new confirmed cases and 14 deaths were recorded in Nigeria
    No new state has reported a case in the last 24 hours.
    Till date, 17735 cases have been confirmed, 5967 cases have been discharged and 469 deaths have been recorded in 35 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
