    COVID-19: Nigeria Records 575 New Cases, 9 More Deaths

    The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Monday announced 575 new coronavirus cases in 19 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

    The new cases raised the overall count of people infected with the virus to 29,286.

    NCDC on its official twitter handle said, 9 more fatalities pushed the number of deaths to 654, while the figure of recoveries and discharged reached 11,828 with 163 additions.

    The health agency’s data showed that, 123 of the new cases were recorded in Lagos, 100 cases in FCT, 58 cases in Delta, while Edo, Ogun and Kastina reported 52, 42 and 24 cases respectively.

    Other states with new infection case: Bayelsa-23, Rivers-22, Borno-19, Plateau-18, Ondo-18, Oyo-17, Kwara-15, Osun-13, Enugu-9, Nasarawa-7, Abia-6, Cross River-5, Kaduna-3 and Ekiti-1

    Nigeria has tested 152,952 persons since the first confirmed case relating to the COVID-19 pandemic was announced on 27 February 2020.

    On the 6th of July 2020, 575 new confirmed cases and 9 deaths were recorded in Nigeria
    One new state has reported a case in the last 24 hours.
    Till date, 29,286 cases have been confirmed, 11,828 cases have been discharged and 654 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
    Cross River, the only state in Nigeria not to record any case of Coronavirus since the outbreak of the pandemic, has now recorded first cases of the deadly virus.

    With this, all 36 states of Nigeria and the FCT have recorded cases of Coronavirus.

    In the figures released by the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, on Monday night, Cross River recorded five cases of the virus.
