    COVID-19: Nigeria Reports 462 New Cases, Total Inflections Exceed 43,000

    With this latest update, the total confirmed cases of COVID-19 infections in Nigeria are now 43,151, as the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Friday night announced 462 new cases of Covid-19 in the country.

    NCDC added that COVID-19 fatalities have risen to 879 in the country after one new deaths were recorded on Friday. While 295 people were discharged from various isolation centers in the country. 

    Data obtained from the NCDC’s website shows that the new infections were recorded in 15 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

    According to the breakdown released on Friday by health agency, FCT took the lead with 93 cases, Lagos with 78 cases, Plateau with 64 cases and Kaduna had 54 cases.

    Also, Oyo confirmed 47 cases of coronavirus, Ondo had 32 cases Adamawa had 23 cases, Bauchi had 19 cases, while Rivers, Ogun and Delta reported 9 cases each. Edo confirmed 7 cases, Kano and Enugu reported 6 cases each, Nasarawa had 5 cases and Osun confirmed 1 case.

    The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has conducted about 279,675 tests since the first confirmed case relating to the COVID-19 pandemic was announced.

    On the 31sh of July 2020, 462 new confirmed cases and 1 deaths were recorded in Nigeria
    Till date, 43,151 cases have been confirmed, 19,565 cases have been discharged and 879 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
