Disneyland Paris Reopens Today after Four-Month Closure

Disneyland Paris had to temporarily close due to the current global pandemic months ago, but now Disneyland Paris is gearing up to reopen its gates as they have just officially announced a reopening date!

The park has been prepping for reopening for quite some time now. Recent, Disneyland Paris executives, CEO Natacha Rafalski, COO Daniel Delcourt, and VP of Parks Operations Marco Bernini, were all seen on property as they were guided through the theme park as they discussed potential reopening procedures and protocols

Today, Wednesday 15 July after four months of closure following the coronavirus pandemic, Disneyland Paris is set to reopen its gates to guests.
The phased reopening includes both theme parks (Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios Park), Disney’s Newport Bay Club hotel and Disney Village.

In line with guidance from the French government and local health authorities, the Parisian resort has implemented a range of measures aimed at keeping guests and cast members - the title Disney gives to staff - safe.

This includes limited attendance, physical distancing and enhanced cleaning measures, plus the mandatory wearing of face coverings for all employees and guests aged 11 and above.

Visitors must comply with social distancing rules when queueing for rides, while more than 2,000 sanitising and hand washing stations have been installed throughout the resort.

Even season ticket holders are required to purchase tickets in advance and reserve a time to arrive at the park.

On rides, empty spaces will be left between different parties.

Children’s playgrounds, traditional character meet and greets and makeover experiences will remain temporarily unavailable.

The traditional Disney Illumination parade also remains cancelled.

Restaurant seating capacity has been reduced and takeaway options introduced, with booking “highly recommended” for all table service restaurants.

In an effort to encourage compliance, enhanced health and safety training has also been given to all cast members.

Guests are being asked to participate in a “voluntary self-health screening prior to a visit to Disneyland Paris”.

This involves confirming that all parties are not experiencing Covid-19 symptoms, are not under self-quarantine orders and have not been in contact with someone with confirmed or suspected coronavirus symptoms without completing a 14-day quarantine.

Advice on the resort’s website reads: “Guests who cannot confirm all of the above criteria must not visit Disneyland Paris.”

“The resort will continually adjust operations and health and safety measures as the situation evolves and in accordance with guidance from French authorities,” it adds.
