The latest update released by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, raises the total figure of COVID-19 cases in Nigeria to 31,987, while the total number of deaths rose to 724
NCDC also announced the discharge of 308 patients from isolation centers across the country on Saturday, total now 13,103
Announcing the new cases, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirmed the new infections in 17 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
The breakdown of the figures shows that Nigeria’s commercial hub, Lagos leads other states with 224 cases of the virus infections, followed by FTC with 105 cases, Edo and Ondo had 85, 64 cases respectively.
Other state with new coronavirus cases includes: Kaduna-32, Imo-27, Osun-19, Plateau-17, Oyo-17, Ogun-17, Rivers-14, Delta-11, Adamawa-10, Enugu-7, Nassarawa-6, Gombe-3, Abia-3, Ekiti-3.
Nigeria has so far tested 178,265 persons since the first confirmed case relating to the COVID-19 pandemic was announced.
On the 11th of July 2020, 664 new confirmed cases and 15 deaths were recorded in Nigeria
No new state has reported a case in the last 24 hours
Till date, 31987 cases have been confirmed, 13103 cases have been discharged and 724 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
