    Nigeria Records 12 Deaths, 591 New COVID-19 Infections Cases

    Nigeria has reported 591 new confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infections, with 12 more deaths over the past 24 hours.

    The death toll in Nigeria has reached 845, while the total number of cases climbed to 39,539, according to latest figures released by Nigeria Centre for Disease Control [NCDC].

    As of Friday night, 498 patients were discharged from health facilities, this took the total number of recoveries to 16,559

    According to the breakdown released on Friday by NCDC, Oyo state lead with 191 cases, Lagos-168, FCT-61, Ondo-29, Osun-26, Ebonyi-24, Edo-23, Ogun-14, Rivers-13, Akwa Ibom-12, Kaduna-10, Katsina-6, Borno-4, Ekiti-3, Delta-3, Imo-3 and Niger-1.

    The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has conducted about 256,038 tests since the first confirmed case relating to the COVID-19 pandemic was announced.

    On the 24th of July 2020, 591 new confirmed cases and 12 deaths were recorded in Nigeria
    Till date, 39539 cases have been confirmed, 16559 cases have been discharged and 845 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
