    Nigeria Records 418 New COVID-19 Cases

    Nigeria added 481 new cases of coronavirus infections, as the country’s total cases rose to 42,689.
    The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control announced this on Thursday night via its official Twitter handle.

    In the last 24 hours, five deaths were recorded from the virus, taking the total number of confirmed deaths from the virus to 878.

    Also announced the discharge of 266 patients from isolation centers across the country on Thursday, so far, a total of 19,270 persons have recovered and have been discharged after treatment in the country’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

    NCDC data shows that the new cases were spread across 14 states and Federal Capital Territory.

    Confirming the new cases on its verified Twitter handle, NCDC said FCT took the lead, with 96 new cases, followed by Lagos, the epicenter of the virus in Nigeria with 89, Plateau with 68 and Ogun with 49 cases.

    Other states with new cases include: Edo-44, Rivers-43, Oyo-25, Osun-23, Delta-15, Enugu-11, Kano-7, Kaduna-7, Bauchi-2, Bayelsa-1 and .Yobe-1.

    Nigeria has so far tested 276,053 persons since the first confirmed case relating to the COVID-19 pandemic was announced.

    On the 30th of July 2020, 481 new confirmed cases and 5 deaths were recorded in Nigeria
    Till date, 42,689 cases have been confirmed, 19,270 cases have been discharged and 878 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
