    Nigeria Records 643 New COVID-19 Cases, 6 More Fatalities


    In its daily update, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 643 new cases of COVID-19 infection, taking the country's total figure of recorded cases to 34,259 on Wednesday night.

    The health agency on its official website disclosed that the new cases spread across 18 states and Federal Capital Territory,

    The number of successfully treated and recovered Covid-19 cases in Nigeria rose to 13,999 following the discharge of 207 patients. While six more casualties were recorded in the battle against the disease in the last 24 hours. 

    Lagos accounted for the highest figure of the new infections among the states with 230 new cases. Oyo, FTCT and Edo recorded 69, 51 and 43 cases respectively. 

    Other states with new infections are: Osun-35, Rivers-30, Ebonyi-30, Kaduna-28, Ogun-27, Ondo-23, Plateau-20, Benue-17, Enugu-16, Imo-10, Delta-6, Kano-4, Nasarawa-2, Kebbi-1, Ekiti-1.


    The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has conducted about 199,016 tests since the first confirmed case relating to the COVID-19 pandemic was announced.

    On the 15th of July 2020, 643 new confirmed cases and 6 deaths were recorded in Nigeria
    No new state has reported a case in the last 24 hours.
    Till date, 34259 cases have been confirmed, 13999 cases have been discharged and 760 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
