    443 New COVID-19 Cases Recorded in Nigeria, 6 More Deaths

    The spread of novel Coronavirus Disease COVID-19 in Nigeria continues as the latest statistics provided by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control shows that the country recorded 443 new cases.

    The health agency said that as of August 7, Nigeria has confirmed a total of 45,687 cases with six deaths.

    And 207 patients have been discharged after testing negative twice to coronavirus, as the total number of recoveries and discharged rose 32,637

    Data obtained from the NCDC’s website shows that the new cases were reported in 18 states and the Federal  Capital Territory. Plateau state lead, with 103 new cases. Lagoa state came a distant second with 70 infections, followed closely by FCT with 60 cases.

    Other states were as follows; Ondo-35, Edo-27, Rivers-27, Kaduna-20, Osun-19, Borno-18, Oyo-18, Kwara-11, Adamawa-9, Nasarawa-7, Gombe-6, Bayelsa-4, Imo-4, Bauchi-2, Ogun-2 and Kano-1

    Nigeria has so far tested 310,729 persons since the first confirmed case relating to the COVID-19 pandemic was announced.

    On the 7th of August 2020, 443 new confirmed cases and 6 deaths were recorded in Nigeria
    Till date, 45,687 cases have been confirmed, 32,637 cases have been discharged and 936 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
