    Nigeria Records 453 New Cases of COVID-19

    453 new novel coronavirus infection cases has been confirmed in 15 states and the Federal Capital Territory with no coronavirus-related deaths in the Nigeria in the past 24 hours.

    The new COVID-19 update in country have raised the nationwide tally to 47,743
    The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), disclosed this via its official Twitter handle late Wednesday.

    However, 334 patients were discharged after testing negative to the virus, raising the total number of people recovered and discharged to 33,943.

    According to the daily report released by NCDC, Lagos reported the highest number of cases of the virus with 113 infections, FCT had 72, Plateau had 59 and Enugu confirmed 55 cases.

    Others states with new cases are:Kaduna-38, Ondo-32, Osun-26, Ebonyi-20, Ogun-9, Delta-8, Borno-7, Akwa Ibom-6, Oyo-5, Bauchi-1, Kano-1 and Ekiti-1.

    Nigeria has tested 338,084 persons since the first confirmed case relating to the COVID-19 pandemic was announced on 27 February 2020.

    According to the health agency, on the 12th of August 2020, 453 new confirmed cases and no death were recorded in Nigeria
    Till date, 47,743 cases have been confirmed, 33,943 cases have been discharged and 956 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
