    Nigeria Confirms 1 Additional Death, 325 New COVID-19 Cases

    With the latest update the tally of infected people in Nigeria rose to 48,770, as the country recorded 325 new cases of COVID-19 in 19 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

    The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) revealed this via its official Twitter handle on Saturday night.

    NCDC also announced the discharge of 292 patients from isolation centers across the country with 1 new deaths reported.

    Data obtained from the health agency's website shows that Lagos recorded the highest number of cases with 87, while FCT, Gombe, Ebonyi and Plateau reported 49, 28, 20. and 19 cases respectively.

    Other states with new infections are Kwara-18, Enugu-17, Imo-12, Rivers-12, Kaduna-11, Ogun-10, Edo-9, Oyo-9, Ondo-8, Osun-8, Ekiti-4, Borno-1, Kano-1, Bauchi-1 and Nasarawa-1.

    Nigeria has so far tested 344,397 persons since the first confirmed case relating to the COVID-19 pandemic was announced.

    According to NCDC, on the 15th of August, 325 new confirmed cases and 1 death were recorded in Nigeria
    Till date, 48,770 cases have been confirmed, 36,290 cases have been discharged and 974 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
