    Nigeria Records 250 New COVID-19 Cases

    Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed a total number of 250 new novel coronavirus cases in the country in 19 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

    The centre said in its daily update on the pandemic situation via its Twitter handle that the latest discoveries had increased the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 53,727.

    No deaths were recorded from the virus in the past 24 hours as the total number of confirmed deaths from the virus stands at 1,011

    Also, the number of patients that had recovered from the disease and discharged from the isolation centres shot up from 41,017 to 41,314 during the same period.

    The breakdown of the latest COVID-19 figure on state-by-state is as follows: Plateau-69, FCT-41, Lagos-21, Delta-14, Kaduna-14, Bayelsa-13, Enugu-13, Ekiti-11, Bauchi-9, Ogun-8, Edo-7, Oyo-7, Rivers-6, Adamawa-4, Osun-4, Nasarawa-3, Ebonyi-2, Kwara-2, Gombe-1 and Imo-1.

    Nigeria has so far tested 398,304 persons since the first confirmed case relating to the COVID-19 pandemic was announced.

    According to NCDC, on the 29th of August 2020, 250 new confirmed cases and no death were recorded in Nigeria.
    Till date, 53,727 cases have been confirmed, 41,314 cases have been discharged and 1,011 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
