The spread of novel Coronavirus Disease COVID-19 in Nigeria continues as the latest statistics by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control shows that the country recorded 373 new cases.
The new cases confirmed by the health agency took the country’s tally of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 48,116 across 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
NCDC also announced the death of ten people from the virus infections in the last 24 hours, this raises the total fatalities to 966
And 366 more patients have been discharged after testing negative twice to coronavirus, as the total number of recoveries and discharged rose 34,309
The agency in a tweet late Thursday said the new cases were reported in 19 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
A breakdown of the news cases shows that Lagos recorded 69 positive cases, 41 cases were found in Oyo and 40 cases in Kaduna.
Other states that have recorded new cases include: Oyo-40, FCT-35, Plateau-22, Rivers-19, Kano-17, Ondo-17, Ogun-15. Abia-14, Gombe-12, Imo-9, Enugu-7, Kwara-6, Delta-5, Niger-2, Borno-1, Bauchi-1, Nasarawa-1
