As the nation continues its fight against Coronavirus, Nigeria on Thursday night recorded 354 new cases of COVID-19 and 3 people were reportedly dead from the virus infections. 

With the latest update by Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, the total tally of infected people in the country rose to 45,244

NCDC also announced the discharge of 265 patients from isolation centers across the country after tested negative to coronavirus.

Data obtained from the NCDC’s website shows that the new cases were reported in 16 states and the Federal  Capital Territory. 

Within a 24 hour period, Abuja, the Federal  Capital Territory of Nigeria saw 78 new coronavirus cases, While a major financial centre for all of Africa and the economic hub of Nigeria, Lagos had 76 new cases, Kaduna, Ebonyi, Oyo and Nasarawa reported 23, 19, 18 and 17 cases respectively.

Other states with new virus infections as follows: Rivers-17, Delta-16, Kwara-15, Akwa, Ibom-13, Edo-12, Ogun-12, Plateau-11, Kano-9, Bauchi-6, Borno-6 and Ekiti-6

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has conducted about 306,894 tests since the first confirmed case relating to the COVID-19 pandemic was announced.

On the 6th of August 2020, 354 new confirmed cases and 3 deaths were recorded in Nigeria
Till date, 45,244 cases have been confirmed, 32,430 cases have been discharged and 930 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
