    Nigeria Reports 386 New COVID-19 Cases

    The Nigeria Centre for Diseases Control, on Saturday night announced 386 new cases of COVID-19.

    With the latest update, the total tally of infected people in the country rose to 43,537, while number of discharged patients stands at 20,087 with 883 deaths till date.

    According to the daily report released by the NCDC, FCT tops the chart with 130 new cases, followed by Lagos, Ondo and Osun state with 65, 37 and 29 cases respectively.

    It added that the new cases were spread across 17 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

    Other states with new infections cases are: 
    Plateau-23, Rivers-15, Enugu-14, Nasarawa-12, Bayelsa-11, Ebonyi-11, Ekiti-9, Oyo-8, Edo-8, Abia-6, Ogun-3, Katsina-3, Imo-1 and Adamawa-1

    The agency stated that on Tuesday there were 4 new deaths from COVID-19 infections, while 522 patients recovered from the virus infections and discharged after testing negative.

    Since the beginning of the outbreak in Nigeria in February, more than 283,916 samples have been tested by NCDC, out of which 43,537 were positive.

    On the 1st of August 2020, 386 new confirmed cases and 4 deaths were recorded in Nigeria
    Till date, 43,537 cases have been confirmed, 20,087 cases have been discharged and 883 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
