Marvel's Falcon, Winter Soldier Release Date Delays Till 2021

Initially set to launch this August, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is now coming in 2021. Disney and Marvel have yet to address the delay directly, but if you visit the landing page for the series on Disney+, you can see references to 2021 on the page that weren’t there before. As the synopsis explains, when the show finally does drop, it will be about the titular heroes teaming up “in a global adventure that tests their abilities–and their patience.”

The streaming service confirmed the delayed release date with an updated synopsis for the MCU spin-off series, although it did not specify which month it will be made available.

The synopsis now reads: "Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, Sam Wilson/Falcon (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) team up in a global adventure that tests their abilities – and their patience – in Marvel Studios' The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.

"The all-new series is directed by Kari Skogland; Malcolm Spellman is the head writer. Coming 2021."

Falcon and the Winter Soldier, which resumed filming back in July, was previously slated for an autumn 2020 release, but was later expected to premiere in August.

However, when Disney+ unveiled a release schedule for August, the show was not included on the list.

Fans will now have to wait until next year to follow the adventures of Falcon and the Winter Soldier in a post-Captain America world, but there is another Marvel Studios series that will arrive before the end of 2020.

WandaVision – yet another Marvel spin-off series, this time focusing on Elizabeth Olsen's Wanda, aka Scarlet Witch, and Paul Bettany's Vision – will be available to stream before the end of the year.

Other Marvel Studios shows currently in production for Disney+ include Loki, the animated series What If...?, Hawkeye, Ms Marvel, She-Hulk and Moon Knight.
