In the latest update of the novel coronavirus Covid-19 pandemic in Nigeria, 176 new cases have been reported as of late Monday in 16 states and Federal Capital Territory.
The new confirmed cases raised the country’s tally to 55,632 according to Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC.
NCDC data shows that the Federal Capital Territory Abuja accounting for the highest number of infections for the day with 40 cases, followed by Lagos with 34, while Plateau reported 26 cases and Enugu recorded 14 cases.
The health agency also announced the discharge of 276 patients from isolation centers across the country with 3 more deaths reported.
Other state with new cases are as follows: Delta-12, Ogun-12, Ondo-9, Oyo-8, Ekiti-6, Ebonyi-4, Adamawa-2, Nasarawa-2, Kwara-2, Rivers-2, Edo-1, Osun-1 and Bauchi-1.
Nigeria has so far tested 430,712 persons since the first confirmed case relating to the COVID-19 pandemic was announced.
