    Nigeria Records 2 Deaths, 160 New COVID-19 Cases


    While most cases of the COVID-19 coronavirus have been reported in the U.S., Europe, and China, the virus still continues to spread across the African continent.

    The confirmed worldwide cases for the virus have surpassed Twenty'Eight million with the current figure being at 28,890,876.

    The tally of COVID-19 outbreak in Nigeria has increased to 56,177 after 160 new infections were recorded with two coronavirus-related deaths in 12 states and the Federal Capital Territory late Saturday.

    The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known via its official Twitter handle.

    According to the NCDC in a tweet via its official handle, the new cases of ‪#COVID19‬ have been reported as follows: FCT-39, Plateau-39, Lagos-30, Kaduna-23, Katsina-7, Rivers-6, Oyo-6, Yobe-3, Benue-3, Bayelsa-1, Abia-1, Edo-1 and Ekiti-1.

    NCDC added that 90 people were discharged from various isolation centers in the country.

    The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has conducted about 438,135 tests since the first confirmed case relating to the COVID-19 pandemic was announced.

    According to the health agency on September 12, 2020, 160 new confirmed cases of ‪#COVID19‬ recorded, while 2 have died of the novel coronavirus.

    Till date, a total of 56,177 cases have been confirmed, 44,088 cases have been discharged and 1,078 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
