    Nigeria Records 21 Deaths, 124 New COVID-19 Cases

    Nigeria has recorded 124 new cases of the novel coronavirus, COVID-19 in 12 states and Federal Capital Territory.
    With the new confirmed cases on Thursday, a total of 54,587 COVID-19 infections have now been recorded across the country.

    The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) disclosed this via its official twitter page.

    In the last 24 hours, 21 deaths were recorded from the virus, and 188 patients were discharged from isolation centers across the country.

    Confirming the new cases on its verified Twitter handle, NCDC said Lagos reported 42 new cases, followed by FCT with 25 cases and Katsina with 14 cases.

    Other states with new cases include: Kaduna-11, Kwara-8, Ondo-7, Delta-4, Anambra-3, Oyo-3, Edo-2, Ogun-2, Osun-2 and Cross River-1.

    Since the beginning of the outbreak in Nigeria in February, more than 413,265 samples have been tested by NCDC, out of which 54,587 were positive.

    Nigeria recorded its lowest coronavirus infections in nearly five months, sadly the country also had a significant increase in the death toll from the virus.

    According to the NCDC, on the 3rd of September 2020, 124 new confirmed cases and 21 deaths were recorded in Nigeria
    Till date, 54,587 cases have been confirmed, 42,627 cases have been discharged and 1,048 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
