    Nigeria Records 216 New COVID-19 Cases

    The spread of novel Coronavirus Disease COVID-19 in Nigeria continues as the latest updates provided by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC shows that the country recorded 216 new cases.

    With the latest update by the health agency NCDC, the total tally of infected people in the country rose to 54,463.

    Data obtained from the NCDC’s website shows that the new cases were reported in 15 states and the Federal  Capital Territory. Plateau state lead, with 59 new cases. Rivers state came a distant second with 27 infections, followed closely by Abia with 22 cases.

    Other states were as follows; Lagos-20, Oyo-18, Enugu-17, Kaduna-11, FCT-11, Ogun-10, Ebonyi-4, Osun-4, Ekiti-4, Delta-3, Edo-3, Akwa Ibom-2 and Bauchi-1.

    NCDC also announced the discharge of 429 patients from isolation centers across the country after tested negative to coronavirus.

    The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has conducted about 411,077 tests since the first confirmed case relating to the COVID-19 pandemic was announced.

    On the 2nd of September 2020, 216 new confirmed cases and 4 deaths were recorded in Nigeria
    Till date, 54,463 cases have been confirmed, 42,439 cases have been discharged and 1,027 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
