NCDC added that 213 patients have been discharged after testing negative twice from the disease.
The new confirmed cases raised the country’s tally to 56,956 according to Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC.
NCDC data shows that the 221 new cases are reported from 18 states and the Federal Capital Territory. Lagos accounting for the highest number of infections for the day with 59 cases, followed by Abia with 46 cases, while FCT reported 22 cases and Gombe recorded 20 cases.
Other affected states were Plateau (17), Rivers (11), Bauchi (7), Benue (6), Ekiti (6), Imo (6), Kaduna (4), Kwara (4), Ondo (4), Ogun (3), Osun (3), Bayelsa (1), Edo (1) and Kano (1)
According to the agency, till date, 56,956 cases have been confirmed, 48,305 cases have been discharged and 1,094 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory
NCDC said that a multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC) activated at Level 3, had continued to coordinate national response activities across the country.
