    Nigeria Records 6 Deaths, 296 New COVID-19 Cases

    Nigeria on Tuesday records additional 296 new cases of novel coronavirus COVID-19 with 6 coronavirus-related deaths in 14 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

    With the latest update, the number of infected people in the country rose 55,456 Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known via its official twitter handle.

    NCDC added that 103 people were discharged from various isolation centers in the country.

    Data obtained from the NCDC’s website shows that Plateau took the lead with 183 cases, while Lagos, FCT, and Ogun reported 33, 25, and 16 cases respectively.

    Other states with infected people include: Oyo-7, Ekiti-6, Kwara-5, Ondo-5, Anambra-3, Imo-3, Nasarawa-3, Rivers-2, Gombe-2, Edo-2 and Akwa Ibom-1

    The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has conducted about 426,803 tests since the first confirmed case relating to the COVID-19 pandemic was announced.

    According to the health agency, on the 8 of September, 296 new confirmed cases and 6 deaths were recorded in Nigeria
    Till date, 55,456 cases have been confirmed, 43,334 cases have been discharged and 1,067 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
