    Nigeria Reports 201 COVID-19 Infection in 12 States, FCT

    Nigeria’s confirmed cases of novel coronavirus reached 58,848 following 201 new infections, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) said in an update via it Twitter handle late Wednesday. 

    However, the death toll from the virus stands at 1,112 after one death was recorded. While 421 patients were discharged on Wednesday after testing negative to the virus.

    Data obtained via NCDC Twitter handle shows that the new confirmed cases were reported in 12 states and the Federal Capital Territory. Lagos recorded the bulk of the new infections with 77 cases, while Rivers, Plateau and FCT confirmed 37, 25 and 13 new cases respectively.

    Other states with new infections are: Kaduna-12, Ogun-12, Adamawa-8, Taraba-7, Imo-4, Kwara-2, Osun-2, Abia-1 and Oyo-1.

    According to the NCDC, on the 30th of September 2020, 201 new confirmed cases and 1 death was recorded in Nigeria.

    Till date, 58,848 cases have been confirmed, 50,358 cases have been discharged and 1,112 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
