    COVID-19: Nigeria Records 103 New Cases

    No virus-linked death and 103 new COVID-19 cases were recorded in 12 states  and the Federal Capital Territory in the past 24 hours. 

    The new confirmed cases raised the country’s tally to 59,841 according to Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC.

    NCDC added that 148 patients have been discharged after testing negative twice from the disease.

    NCDC data shows that Lagos accounting for the highest number of infections for the day with 39 cases, followed by Rivers, FCT and Oyo with 21, 19 and 6 cases.

    Other affected states were Kaduna-4, Bauchi-3, Ogun-3, Imo-2, Kano-2, Benue-1, Edo-1, Nasarawa-1 and Plateau-1

    The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has conducted about 545,364 tests since the first confirmed case relating to the COVID-19 pandemic was announced.

    According to the health agency, on the 8th of October 2020, 103 new confirmed cases were recorded in Nigeria.

    Till date, 59,841 cases have been confirmed, 51,551 cases have been discharged and 1,113 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

    NCDC said that a multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC) activated at Level 3, had continued to coordinate national response activities across the country.
