    COVID-19: Nigeria Records 77 New Infections, 2 Deaths

    As Nigeria keep up its fight against COVID-19, the spread of novel coronavirus disease continues to slow down in the country. 

    The latest updates provided shows that the country recorded 77 new infections with 2 coronavirus related deaths in 10 states and Federal Capital Territory in the last 24 hours.

    With new confirmed cases by Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, the tally of infected people in the country rose to 61,882.

    According to the health agency, the numbers of recoveries stands at 57,190 with additional 205 patients discharged across the nation in the last 24 hours. 

    Data obtained via NCDC website shows that, Lagos recorded the bulk of the new infections with 71 cases, while Kaduna, Rivers and FCT confirmed 20, 19 and 4 new cases respectively.

    Also Osun had 3 cases of the virus, Ondo, Sokoto, Kwara and Benue confirmed 2 cases each, while Imo and Ogun reported 1 case each.

    The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has conducted about 602,239 tests since the first confirmed case relating to the COVID-19 pandemic was announced.

    According to the NCDC, on the 23rd of October 2020, 77 new confirmed cases and 2 deaths were recorded in Nigeria.

    Till date, 61,882 cases have been confirmed, 57,190 cases have been discharged and 1,129 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
