    Nigeria: NCDC Reports 148 New COVID-19 Infections


    Nigeria has continued to record new case of infections despite the measures put in place to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus.

    Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known via its official Twitter handle announced 148 new COVID-19 infections with zero coronavirus related deaths in 13 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

    The health agency also announced the discharge of 51 patients from isolation centers across the country.

    The breakdown by NCDC shows that, Lagos state recorded the highest number of confirmed cases with 66 new infections, while FCT, Oyo and Plateau, recorded 25, 13 and 11 cases respectively.

    Other states in new cases include: Kaduna (7), Rivers (6), Ebonyi (5), Ekiti (4), Ogun (4), Imo (2), Ondo (2), Edo (1), Nasarawa (1), Taraba (1).

    NCDC disclosed that it had conducted about 567,857 tests since the first confirmed case relating to the COVID-19 pandemic was announced in the country.

    On the 15th of October 2020, 148 new confirmed cases were recorded in Nigeria

    Till date, 60,982 cases have been confirmed, 52,194 cases have been discharged and 1,116 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
