    Nigeria Records 160 New COVID-19 Cases, Total Now 59,287

    Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) in its COVID-19 infections update, noted that 160 new cases were confirmed in the country, while the number of deaths increased by 1 and 125 patients were discharged after treatment on Saturday.

    Data obtained from NCDC official Twitter  handle shows that the new cases were reported in 12 states  and the Federal Capital Territory. 

    Rivers with 42 new cases recorded the highest number of confirmed COVID-19 cases followed by Lagos which recorded 32 cases, Plateau confirmed 21 cases and FCT reported 18 cases.

    Other states with new infections are: Kaduna-14
    Ogun-11, Katsina-10, Kwara-3, Ondo-3, Imo-3, Anambra-1, Abia-1, Oyo-1

    The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has conducted about 532,765 tests since the first confirmed case relating to the COVID-19 pandemic was announced.

    According to the health agency on the 3rd of October 2020, 160 new confirmed cases and 1 death was recorded in Nigeria.
    Till date, 59287 cases have been confirmed, 50718 cases have been discharged and 1113 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
