    Nigeria Records 37 New COVID-19 Infections

    Thirty-Seven new COVID-19 infections has been recorded with no coronavirus-related deaths in 8 states and the Federal Capital Territory in Nigeria. However, 183 patients were discharged after testing negative to the virus on Wednesday.

    With the new update, the tally of infected people in the country rose to 61,667.

    The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), disclosed this via its official website.

    Data obtained from the NCDC’s website shows that 8 of the new cases were recorded in FCT, 7 cases were recorded in Lagos, 5 cases each in Taraba and Rivers. 

    While Adamawa recorded 4 cases, Kaduna had 3 cases, Anambra and Osun reported 2 cases each and Ogun confirmed 1 case.

    Nigeria has tested 595,283 persons since the first confirmed case relating to the COVID-19 pandemic was announced on 27 February 2020.

    According to the health agency on the 21st of October 2020, 37 new confirmed cases were recorded in Nigeria.

    Till date, 61,667 cases have been confirmed, 56,880 cases have been discharged and 1,125 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
