    Nigeria Records 1 More Death, 246 New COVID-19 Infections


    With the virus infecting another 246 people in Nigeria and one new patient confirmed dead to the virus, the death toll reached 1,166 and nationwide infections rose to 66,228, new data by Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC showed on Saturday.

    Also, data obtained from the centre’s website shows that 102 COVID-19 patients were discharged in the past 24 hours across the country. The total number people recovered and discharged from the virus now 61,884.

    The public health agency in a tweet said the new cases were reported in 10 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

    Lagos state, the the epicentre of COVID-19 in Nigeria recorded 66 new infections bringing the total number of the infections in the state to 22,902.

    Other states with new cases include: Plateau-63, FCT-48, Kaduna-21, Bayelsa-19, Rivers-12, Niger-9, Ogun-4, Ekiti-2, Bauchi-1 and Osun-1

    Nigeria has so far tested 739,216 people since the first confirmed case of COVID-19 was recorded on Feb. 27, 2020.

    According to the health agency on the 21st of November 2020, 246 new confirmed cases and 1 death was recorded in Nigeria.
    Till date, 66,228 cases have been confirmed, 61,884 cases have been discharged and 1,166 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory .
