Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known via its Twitter handle.
NCDC also disclosed that 73 people were discharged after recovered from the disease.
According to the health agency, Lagos recorded the bulk of the new infections with 87 cases, while Oyo, FCT, Plateau and Edo confirmed 51, 12, 10 and 4 new infections respectively.
Other states with new coronavirus infections are: Ekiti-3, Ogun-3, Bauchi-2, Kaduna-2, Niger-2, Kano-1, Ondo-1, Osun-1 and Rivers-1.
Nigeria has tested 673,183 persons since the first confirmed case relating to the COVID-19 pandemic was announced on 27 February 2020.
According to the health agency on the 5th of November 2020, 180 new confirmed cases were recorded in Nigeria.
Till date, 63,508 cases have been confirmed, 59,748 cases have been discharged and 1,155 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
