    Nigeria Records 212 New COVID-19 Infections

    No death recorded and 212 new COVID-19 infections were confirmed in Nigeria in the past 24 hours, taking the tally to 1,162 and 64,728 respectively, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), made this known via its official Twitter handle on Thursday.

    NCDC also announced the discharge of 53 patients from isolation centers across the country.

    Nigeria has so far tested 697,544 persons since the first confirmed case relating to the COVID-19 pandemic was announced on 27 February 2020.

    In its breakdown, the health agency revealed that the new infections are reported from 16 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

    Lagos state, the epicentre of the virus in country recorded the highest number of confirmed infections with 71, while Imo and Plateau confirmed 26 infections each, FCT recorded 19 infections.

    Other states in new infections are: Ondo-17, Kaduna-14, Rivers-9, Oyo-9, Katsina-6, Osun-4, Bauchi-2, Ekiti-2, Nasarawa-2, Ogun-2, Kano-1, Kwara-1 and Taraba-1.

    NCDC on the 12 of November 2020, reported that 212 new confirmed cases were recorded in Nigeria.

    Till date, 64,728 cases have been confirmed, 60,790 cases have been discharged and 1,162 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
