    Nigeria Records 223 New COVID-19 Infections

    Following the confirmation of 223 new coronavirus infections with one fatalities recorded in 16 states and the Federal Capital Territory on Friday, Nigeria's COVID-19 infections toll rose to 63,731

    The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) disclosed this via its official Twitter handle.

    NCDC also said 96 coronavirus patients have recovered and discharged from various isolation centers across the country.

    The health agency in a tweet disclosed that, Lagos Leading the chart as usual recorded 85 infections, while FCT occupied the second spot with 35 infections, Akwa Ibom, Enugu and Plateau confirmed 24, 18 and 13 respectively. 

    Other states with new cases include: Rivers-10, Abia-7, Ebonyi-6, Anambra-5, Adamawa-4, Bauchi-3, Imo-3, Ogun-3, Oyo-3, Kwara-2, Osun-1 and Taraba-1.

    The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has conducted about 673,183 tests since the first confirmed case relating to the COVID-19 pandemic was announced.

    Data obtained from the agency’s website showed that on the 6th of November 2020, 223 new confirmed cases and one death was recorded in Nigeria

    Till date, 63,731 cases have been confirmed, 59 844 cases have been discharged and 1,154 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

    Today’s report from Akwa Ibom State includes updated cases recorded over the course of the last month.  Two deaths previously recorded in Imo State were erroneously reported, the health agency said.
