    Nigeria Records 236 New Infections, 1 Additional Death

    Following the confirmation of 236 new COVID-19 infections in 13 states and Federal Capital Territory,  the coronavirus tally in Nigeria rose to 61,457. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) disclosed this on Wednesday night.

    The health agency noted that 120 coronavirus patients have recovered and discharged, while one fatality were recorded. 

    According to the breakdown, Lagos Leading the chart as usual recorded 142 infections, while Ogun occupied the second spot with 19 infections, Kaduna, FCT and Imo confirmed 15,14 and 14 respectively. 

    Other states with new cases include Rivers-14.  Plateau-6, Katsina-3, Ekiti-2, Jigawa-2, Oyo-2, Cross River-1, Kano-1 and Taraba-1.

    The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has conducted about 721,516 tests since the first confirmed case relating to the COVID-19 pandemic was announced.

    Data obtained from the agency’s website showed that on the 18th of November 2020, 236 new confirmed cases and 1 death was recorded in Nigeria
    Till date, 65,693 cases have been confirmed, 61,457 cases have been discharged and 1,163 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
