Nigeria’s novel coronavirus infections tally reached 69,645 following 390 new COVID-19 infections, in 19 states and the Federal Capital Territory. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) said in an update via it Twitter handle late Monday.
However, the death toll from the virus stands at 1,181 after one death was recorded, while 173 patients were discharged on Monday after testing negative to the virus.
Data obtained via NCDC Twitter handle shows that FCT recorded the bulk of the new infections with 89 cases, while Gombe, Kaduna and Lagos confirmed 89, 62 and 35 new cases respectively.
Other states with new infections are: Kwara-15, Borno-13, Nasarawa-10, Rivers-10, Bauchi-8, Ogun-8, Osun-7, Bayelsa-7, Kano-7, Edo-6, Taraba-6, Ekiti-5, Katsina-5, Akwa Ibom-4, Delta-3 and Sokoto-1.
Nigeria has tested 803,621 persons since the first confirmed case relating to the COVID-19 pandemic was announced on 27 February 2020.
According to the NCDC, on the 7th of December 2020, 390 new confirmed cases and 1 death was recorded in Nigeria
Till date, 69,645 cases have been confirmed, 64,947 cases have been discharged and 1,181 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
Our discharges today include 74 community recoveries in Gombe State and 6 community recoveries in Lagos State managed in line with guidelines.
