Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC reported 930 new infections in 21 states and the Federal Capital Territory, the new infections raised the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 75,062.
No death were recorded from the virus. Having fully recovered and tested negative to COVID-19, NCDC has announced the discharged of 281 new patients
Nigeria has so far tested 859,357 persons since the first confirmed case relating to the COVID-19 pandemic was announced.
With the latest update, Lagos recorded the highest number of cases with 279 infections, followed by FCT which recorded 179 cases, Plateau, Kaduna and Kano states recorded 62, 54 and 52 cases respectively.
Other states affected by the virus on Wednesday include: Katsina-52, Imo-42, Jigawa-42, Rivers-38, Kwara-30, Nasarawa-19, Yobe-15, Ogun-13, Borno-10, Oyo-9, Niger-9, Ebonyi-6, Bauchi-6, Edo-5, Taraba-4, Sokoto-2 and Cross River-2.
According to the health agency on the 16th of December 2020, 930 new confirmed cases were recorded in Nigeria
Till date, 75,062 cases have been confirmed, 66,775 cases have been discharged and 1,200 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
Our discharges today include 106 community recoveries in Lagos State managed in line with guidelines.
