Nigeria on Saturday January 30, recorded 1,883 new cases of
the novel coronavirus, with additional 1 COVID-19 related deaths in 22 states
and Federal Capital Territory.
However, 932 patients recovered from the disease and were discharged from isolation centers across the country. Which includes 461 community recoveries in Lagos State managed in line with guidelines.
The latest update by the health agency revealed that, till
date, a total of 130,557 cases have been confirmed, 103,712 cases have been
discharged and 1,578 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal
Capital Territory.
Data released by NCDC shows that Lagos state, recorded the
highest number of confirmed cases with 1,040 new infection taking the total
number of cases in the state to 48,919.
Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory came second with 298 new infection, taking the
total number of cases in FCT to 16,863.
Other states with new cases on Saturday as follows Anambra-86,
Rivers-54, Taraba-45, Ogun-42, Oyo-40, Akwa Ibom-38, Sokoto-30, Ebonyi-30, Imo-28,
Kaduna-28, Osun-27, Kano-21, Benue-19, Edo-17, Gombe-15, Ekiti-9, Delta-8, Jigawa-3,
Kwara-2, Bayelsa-2 and Plateau-1.
