And 1,083 more patients have been discharged after testing negative
to coronavirus, as the total number of recoveries and discharged rose 81,574.
Nigeria has so far tested 1,033,858 people since the first
confirmed case of COVID-19 was recorded on Feb. 27, 2020 in the country.
According to the breakdown released on Tuesday by health
agency, Lagos took the lead with 435 infections, FCT with 234, Oyo with 103 and Plateau
had 86 cases.
Other states with new infections include: Rivers-71, Enugu-51,
Nasarawa-41, Delta-39, Edo-39, Osun-33, Niger-31, Sokoto-23, Ondo-16, Taraba-13,
Ebonyi-12, Kano-10, Abia-9, Bayelsa-8, Bauchi-7, Imo-5, Katsina-3 and Gombe-1.
In summary, on the 12th of January 2021, 1,270 new confirmed
cases and 12 deaths were recorded in Nigeria.
Till date, 102,601 cases have been confirmed, 81,574 cases have been discharged and 1,373 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
