Due to the
rapid and massive need for daily video conferencing, Zoom is continually
updating the capabilities of its conferencing interface to meet the needs of
its users. One of the first changes was to allow the user to change the
background. This is useful if you don’t want to see children’s toys scattered
around or be distracted by your last vacation trinket collection.
Zoom has
also recently updated the ability of hosts to remove and block infamous Zoom
bombers from joining conferences and unruly conferences. The latest Zoom update
comes with Studio Effects, which allows users to add a variety of eyebrow,
facial hair, and lip colors to their video feeds. In a way, you can clean
things up or add a little pizza or humor to your video conference.
Adding a
make-up effect to the zoom is a bit suspicious. Because no one wants to meet a
colleague who has the face of a clown first thing in the morning. It also has
the advantage of being able to “fix the face” without having to fix the face in
advance.
To use
Zoom’s Studio Effects, go to the gear icon when you log in to the Zoom desktop
app and click on it to enter the settings menu.
First, from
the list of options on the left. Click the tab, find and click Studio Effects
(Beta) at the bottom right. Click to open a new window on the right with
options to change the color of your eyebrows, mustache and mustache, and lips.
This is all
fun, but don’t forget to leave the “Apply to all future meetings” option
unchecked in case you’re not ready to share the updated look with your
colleagues.
