    COVID-19: 214 New Cases Takes Nationwide Tally to 162,076

    Nigeria on Tuesday reported 214 new cases of coronavirus infection from across the country. With this, the nationwide infection count has advanced to 162,076.

    The newly recorded infections were found in 11 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

    In the last 24 hours, 109 cases surfaced in Adamawa state, Lagos reported 33 cases, while 26 new cases was reported in Bauchi, 9 cases each in Kaduna and Rivers.

    FCT and Oyo reported 7 cases, Gombe had 5, Ebonyi had 4, Osun had 3 and Ekiti, Ogun reported 1 case each.

    Likewise, 405 out of those people who were earlier infected with the virus are reported to have recovered in the past 24 hours as per the latest data provided by Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC. 

    Which include 157 community recoveries in Bauchi State, 121 in FCT and 55 in Lagos State managed in line with guidelines.

    The health agency also stated that Backlog of cases from Adamawa State recorded from the 10th of March, 2021.

    As of today, a total of 148,530 individuals have recovered from the novel coronavirus infection. The recovery rate, as such, is almost 92 per cent of the country’s caseload.

    Meanwhile, one fatality was confirmed by the NCDC today, with which the country's COVID-19 death toll stands at 2,031

    Currently, there are 11,762 active in across Nigeria. An increase of 49 from 11,713 it was the previous day.
