Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) in its latest
update revealed that 346 new cases has been confirmed in 17 states and the
Federal Capital Territory.
While the number of
successfully treated and recovered COVID-19 cases increased by 554.
The health agency added that 6 more persons have died from
the virus on Tuesday.
With the new update, COVID-19 infections tally in Nigeria
reached 159,252 on Tuesday, while the death toll from the virus stands at 1,988
and the number of recovered COVID-19 patients is now 139,056 in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory
as the worst pandemic in a century continues to spread across the world.
Today's discharges include 170 community recoveries in Lagos State and 83 in Kwara State managed in line with guidelines, NCDC noted.
The breakdown of the newly recorded infections showed that, Lagos
recorded the highest number of new cases with 86 infections on Tuesday.
Bauch followed closely with 64 cases and Kaduna & Kwara in
third position reported 26 new cases each.
While FCT confirmed 24 Infections, Rivers reported 23 and Plateau confirmed 22
cases of the virus.
Other states affected by the virus on Tuesday were Ogun-16, Ebonyi-14, Bayelsa-12, Cross River-10, Edo-8, Akwa Ibom-5, Ekiti-3, Gombe-2, Kano-2, Osun-2 and Delta-1.
